In 1977 Yossi Gino joined the first delegation of peace talks in Egypt
Yossi Gino was a member of the first peace delegation with Egypt, following the visit of President Sadat in Israel. An event which had a huge impact, as the first time he was in what was considered a cruel enemy country and the biggest threat to the existence of the state of Israel. "Being a fighter in Sayeret Matkal, I worked extensively in Egypt and one day at the end of 1977, I was elected to be a member of a delegation on a mission of making peace with Egypt. The journey there and the stay there with 'the enemy' on a none military mission, was a life changing experience and paradoxical in more than one aspect." Gino wrote.
